SND TERMS AND CONDITIONS

for season 2018/2019

I.

Introductory clauses

 

  1. These Terms and Conditions of the Slovak National Theatre (hereafter only “ToC”) refer to sales and sales procedure concerning tickets to theatre performances of the Slovak National Theatre or performances organised by the Slovak National Theatre.

     

II.

Tickets

 

  1. Ticket to a performance is a security. Tickets are VAT exempt. Editing, forgery or copying tickets shall be deemed to be in breach of these ToC, as well as with relevant legislation and, as such, might result in administrative and legal, possibly also penal consequences.
  2. A Ticket without control voucher or otherwise intentionally or unintentionally damaged tickets are invalid. On presentation of such tickets their holder won’t be allowed entry to a performance to which the ticket concerned applies and/or to the theatre.
  3. Category 4 tickets for the SND historical building are for seating with limited view. This is reflected in the ticket price. Hence, in the event of complaint concerning the above fact shall not result in compensation for the ticket price.

 

  1. By purchasing a ticket, visitors understand and accept the following:

    a) No entry is allowed into the auditorium once the performance has started. Spectators are therefore kindly asked to arrive well in advance;

    b) SND does not guarantee parking spaces on the basis of ticket purchase. Parking behind SND new building is limited and there is no parking at, the AND historical building;

    c) With exception of ladies’ handbags, no entry is allowed I the auditorium with rucksacks, umbrellas and hand luggage;

    d) Entry to the auditorium shall not be permitted to visitors wearing overcoats, outdoor jackets, fur coats and exceptionally dirty outfit;

    e) Consumption of beverages and food, and use of audiovisual equipment and mobile phones are not allowed during performance;

    f) Photography, audio and video recording of an entire performance or its part are expressly forbidden;

    Prior to and during performance visitors are not permitted to disturb the performance, its proceedings, acting artists in delivery of the performance, or to disturb fellow visitors, particularly by loud speech, mobile phone ringing or other disruptive conduct.

In the event of breach of these ToC, designated SND staff member shall be entitled to deny access to performance to the visitor concerned , or, depending on severity of breach, to prevent them from further breaching these ToC or have them taken away from the performance. If technically feasible and depending on the severity of breach of the ToC, such visitor may be permitted to follow the performance on screen within the SND in dedicated space. Such measure shall not raise an entitlement on the part of the visitor to damage compensation should such materialise as a result of the visitor´s misconduct.

 

III.

Purchases, Sales and Ticket Bookings

 

  1. Tickets to SND performance may be purchased in person in SND Box Offices during opening hours, or online at Navstevnik.sk, the bookings and sales portal of the Slovak Ministry of Culture.
  2. Tickets purchased online at Navstevnik.sk may be requested to be printed in SND Box Offices; they shall, however, be marked as “Duplicate”.
  3. Tickets to SND Opera and SND Ballet performances may be booked and collected within seven calendar days prior to the date of the performance. Tickets to performances by SND Drama Company cannot be booked except for group reservations as per Article 4, individual bookings for the purposes of the SND and for bookings to performances pursuant consent issued by Director of SND Drama Company, Director of SND Marketing Centre and SND Director General.
  4. Tickets may be booked online via Navstevnik.sk, by phone at +421 2 204 72 289, email at rezervacie@snd.sk or in persona in SND Box Offices. By making a booking, visitors undertake to collect their tickets within 48 hours from the date of booking. Past the deadline tickets shall be automatically cancelled in our system. You may, in justified cases, request an extension of the collection period, though exclusively by email at rezervacie@snd.sk. Repeated cancellation and renewal of bookings for the same performance shall be deemed to present deliberate blocking of seating with the intention to damage commercial interests of the host. The administrator of the portal Navstevnik.sk reserves the right to cancel bookings of such customers after previous futile notification about unacceptability of such conduct, and to block the registration of such customer at the portal www.navstevnik.sk.
  5. Visitors shall review their tickets instantly on collection in SND Box Office in order to make sure the tickets are correct: later complaints shall not be accepted.
  6. SND reserves the right to only sell tickets 30 minutes prior to the start of performance exclusive to the performance scheduled for that day.
  7. SND Box Office accept the following cards: ZBK, EC/MC, Maestro, MasterCard Electronic, VISA, VISA Electron, DC, JCB. Please notify the Box Office staff about your intention to pay by cad prior to making your purchase.
  8. SND Box Offices accept payments by Culture vouchers issued by the Slovak Ministry of Culture. Customers may use this payment means by 6PM during the Box Office opening hours. For group reservation and their payments please follow instruction s in Article 4 point 4 hereof.
  9. Customer is entitled to a receipt once the tickets have been purchased. For receipt for purchases via Navstevnik.sk customers may email sales department at rezervacie@snd.sk or request them in person in SND Box Offices.
  10. Children up to the age of 3 enjoy free entry to repertoire performances for children without being entitled to their own seat with their accompanying adult who has duly purchased ticket.

IV.

Group Bookings, Billing

 

  1. Group ticket bookings:

    - group booking entails a request of over 10 rickets to a single performance;

    - SND accepts group bookings within 14 days prior to a performance concerned;

    - to purchase up to 10 tickets to a single performance, visitors may use the opportunity to make a reservation to performances by SND Opera and SND Ballet at rezervacie@snd.sk or to purchase tickets in person in SND Box Offices or via Navstevnik.sk.
  2. Special arrangements for selected performances:

    Group bookings are accepted up to one week after sales open for the following performances:

    The Hotel Bristol Apartment, She Got Stuck on Me, Reconciliation or Adventure at Harvest Time, She´s Awesome, The Kindly Ones, Leni, The Merry Wives of Windsor, Before Sunset.



    The list of the above performances might be subject to change throughout the season



    Group bookings submitted for performances that are not include in the above list as set out under the paragraph hereof, bookings may be done also as bookings in auditorium also during the first week of sales of tickets to performances concerned, yet only up to 50% of seating capacity within each category. After the first week of sales bookings may be made for the full seating capacity per performance.
  3. All submitted group bookings are binding.
  4. Payment of group bookings shall be executed upon invoice or by money order. They can also be paid for by culture vouchers in the maximum amount of 40% of the total booking amount with the remaining balance being paid for in cash or upon invoice issued by the SND. As stated above, culture vouchers may be used to paid for group bookings and/or tickets only in person in SND Box Offices during opening hours. Culture vouchers are securities and, as such, they cannot be posted or otherwise sent to the SND. SND shall not be deemed responsible for any loss in handling their delivery within postal services or prior to the purchase in SND as set out hereof.
  5. Payment for group booking must be executed within 14 days prior to the date of the performance concerned. In the event the payment has not been executed as per previous sentence, the SND shall be entitled to cancel the booking and enable sales of the tickets concerned in the public sales system.
  6. Once the group booking is confirmed and payment document has been issued, the booking cannot be cancelled (except for compensation set out in point 8), nor is it possible to change number or category of tickets or date of performance.
  7. Postal delivery of tickets (within Slovakia) shall increase the ticket cost by postage amounting Euro 1.90. If customer requests postal delivery of tickets purchased via group booking, SND shall not bear any responsibility for delivery of the shipment r damage of tickets contained therein.
  8. Group bookings may be subject to discounts as per the ToC, as follows:
  • Student discounts – customers are requested to submit confirmation from school that contains name and address of the school, list of learners and teachers as accompanying persons, signature and stamp of the school;
  • Disabled persons and senior citizens discounts – customers shall submit a confirmation containing name and address of organisation, list of visitors and their accompanying persons, signature and stamp of the organisation, or submit copies of their ID cards that entitle them to the discount;
  • Group discounts – according to discounts announced for a given season..
  1. Receipt for ticket purchases made on the basis of group bookings cannot be cancelled except for a cancellation or change of performance concerned.
  2. Terms concerning group tickets other than those set out in this ToC Article, shall be set out in terms concerning regular tickets, unless stated otherwise in this Article.

 

V.

Ticket discounts

  1. Customers are entitled to claim discount on ticket prices to selected repertoire performances exclusively in person in SND Box Offices, provided they are entitled to the discount claimed.
  2. Prior to purchasing discount ticket, customer shall present relevant document that entitles them to the discount, or – if it is not clear from the document submitted that the person is entitled to discount, to present a combination of documents (e.g. proof of school attendance together with personal ID card). No reduced tickets shall be sold without presentation of proof of entitlement to discount. Presentation of relevant documents to prove entitlement to discount is voluntary and entails consent by the person concerned, and serves solely for the purposes of proof of entitlement to discount. Relevant documents are understood to be original documents as follows:
  • student/school ID,
  • learner card,
  • reduced ore-paid travel card (i.e. season travel pass),
  • prof of school attendance,
  • cards Euro<26, ISIC, ITIC,
  • Disabled Person card and Accompanying Person to Disabled Peron card,
  • To claim discounts for retired visitors aged over 62, they are asked to present a proof of age or status of the person to whom the reduced ticket is to be issued; it should include photo of the person concerned, such as personal ID card, reduced travel pass (i.e. season travel pass) other retired customers (recipients of early retirement benefits) shall present decision issued by the Social Insurance Company about the award o retirement pension or reduced ore-paid travel card (i.e. season travel pass).
  1. Discounts may not be cumulated, combined and interlinked, or connected with any other discounts, or used to performances with reduced tickets (public rehearsals, ore-premières, morning performances, etc.), unless stated otherwise.
  2. Unless otherwise stated on the theatre website and/or information boards in SND Box Offices, discounts do not apply to New Year´s Even performances (held on 31 December), premières, performances given by visiting theatres or to other extraordinary and special events (to be decided by the Director of SND Marketing Centre upon consultation with Director of an ensemble concerned).

 

VI.

Other Terms

Cancellation, Change of Programme, Tickets Exchange

 

  1. In the event of change of performance, customers are entitled to attend substitute performance. Should the customer agree to this, he or she may use their tickets for the substitute performance in the same price equivalent as the cancelled performance. If, in the event of cancellation of performance, customer shall not be entitled to return their ticket, to claim price difference between the cost of tickets to the originally scheduled and substitute performance, or to any other compensation.
  2. If, in the event of cancellation of a performance as per point 1 of this Article, the customer wishes not to attend the substitute performance, he or she is entitled to return their unused tickets and to receive full refund of the original ticket purchase price.
  3. In the event of cancellation and/or change of originally scheduled performance, customers may request return their tickets within 15 working days after the scheduled date of performance or by email at rezervacie@snd.sk while including their account number and bank sort code (IBAN, SWIFT/BIC), and attaching scanned tickets. Requests to ticket refunds as per previous sentence may be submitted within 2 years from the date of cancellation of performance concerned, otherwise the entitlement to refund shall cease pursuant relevant legislation.
  4. SND informs about cancellation or change of scheduled performance on its website www.snd.sk and an announcement in SND Box Offices. SND also inform group customers by phone or email, provided it is technically practicable and the SND has contact data of the customers concerned.
  5. In the event of cancellation and/or change of originally scheduled performance, due to any reason, customers shall not be entitled to compensation o any other expenses/cost incurred in connection with the performance concerned, particularly travel expenses, meals, etc.
  6. Tickets purchased for performance cannot be returned or exchanged; customers are also not entitled to claim any other compensation or discount on purchased tickets (except for compensation as per Article 6, point 1 – 3 herein in the event of cancellation of performance).
  7. In the event of ticket loss SND does not provide replacement ticket.

 

VII.

Gift Vouchers

  1. Gift vouchers may be only used to purchase tickets and printed SND documents exclusively in SND Box Offices.
  2. Gift voucher is a security, the forgery of which shall entail relevant penal proceedings.
  3. Types of gift vouchers:

    › Gift voucher in the value of Euro 20

    › Gift voucher in the value of Euro 35
  4. K Each gift voucher bears its own identifier – a numeric code.
  5. Gift vouchers may be used for performances held within the period of validity of the gift voucher.
  6. When purchasing tickets using gift vouchers customers are not entitled to any cash return of balance between the value of the voucher and tickets.
  7. In the event the value of ticket exceeds that of gift voucher, customers may pay the difference in cash or by card.
  8. When paying with gift vouchers, customer may use a number of gift vouchers and to combine different types of gift vouchers.
  9. In the event of loss or damage of a gift voucher the SND does not issue new/replacement gift voucher.
  10. No cash can be given in return for gift vouchers, and gift vouchers cannot be exchanged for gift vouchers with different expiry date.
  11. Gift vouchers may be purchased in SND Box Offices.
  12. SND gift vouchers are VAT exempt.
  13. Unless otherwise stated in this Article, gift vouchers are subject to relevant terms as set out in other Articles herein.





VIII.

Final Clauses

 

  1. The Terms and Conditions for the 2018/2019 shall enter in force on 16 October 2017 and into effect on 26.2018.

SND OPERA → 50 % off ticket price for seats within Categories 3 and 4

The discount doesn’t apply to performances of Carmen, Nabucco, performances for children, morning performances, Continuities, New Year´s Eve performances (held on 31 December), matinées, premières, performances given by visiting theatres, and to selected special events (to be decided upon by the Director of SND Marketing Centre in consultation with relevant Directors of individual SND ensembles).

SND BALLET → 50 % z off ticket price for seats within Categories 3 and 4

The discount doesn’t apply to performances of The Nutcracker, pre-premières, dress rehearsals, premières, New Year´s Eve performances (held on 31 December), matinées, premières, performances given by visiting theatres, and to selected special events (to be decided upon by the Director of SND Marketing Centre in consultation with relevant Directors of individual SND ensembles).

Discounts on performances by the SND Opera, Ballet and Drama Company cannot be cumulated, combined and stringed together, including with other discounts; nor can they be used for performances to which with reduced ticket offers apply (dress rehearsals, pre-premières, morning performances, and other performances listed in SND Box Offices).

2. Discounts for holders of disability passes and passes for persons accompanying visitors with disabilities, and for visitors with limited mobility

Holders of disability passes and passes for persons accompanying visitors with disabilities: 50 % to seats anywhere in the auditorium and for all performances except for premières, performances given by visiting theatres, selected special events, and morning performances (as per paragraph 5 herein to which an adapted price list applies).

Visitors with limited mobility: may use the discount ticket rate at Euro 3 valid for all performances identified in the Directive 3/2018. Slovak National Theatre recommends that visitors with limited mobility arrange for accompanying persons to join them for a performance. One of the accompanying persons shall be entitled to a 50% discount on ticket purchased along with that for the visitor with limited mobility.

Due to logistical, health & safety and technical constraints, the SND is only able to keep record of visitors with limited mobility as those who have purchased tickets for seats dedicated to visitors with limited mobility as per Directive 3/2018 who actually make use of the seat concerned for the particular performance. If a visitor with limited mobility does not use the dedicated seats identified in the Directive 3/2018, he or she acknowledges that, in the event of danger or other special circumstances, the SND is unable to effectively implement measures as per relevant legislation (namely pursuant Act 314/2001 Coll. on Fire Safety as further amended, The Decree of the Ministry of Interior 121/2002 Coll. on Fire Prevention). Technical and logistical constraints prevent the SND to provide such visitor access dedicated to visitors with limited mobility as per Directive 3/2018.

3. Discounts for pupils and students enrolled in art schools (primary and secondary schools, conservatories, universities) and for students enrolled in art studies to performances that are not sold-out

SND Ballet, Drama Company, Opera → discount price of Euro 3 for categories 3 and 4 available between 1 hour to 30 minutes prior to the start of performance valid for all SND performances that have not been sold-out (the discount doesn’t apply to premières, performances given by visiting theatres, and to special performances).

In addition to pupils and students enrolled in conservatories, Academy of Performing Arts and the Academy of Arts, special price applies to students pursuing their degree in culture studies, aesthetics, art history, Slovak language and literature, music studies, teaching music (music education).

4. Discount for school events for pupils and students, valid for selected evening performances and categories (group purchases of a minimum of 15 tickets):

SND Ballet, Drama Company and Opera → When booking school event, a teachers or another accompanying persons shall be entitled to one single (1) free ticket per 15 learners. Discount on group sales for performances given by all ensembles is governed by paragraph 1 herein.

6. Group purchases of over 10 tickets

Special arrangements for selected performances:

Group bookings are received up to one week after sales open and apply to the following performances:

The Hotel Bristol Apartment, She Got Stuck on Me, Reconciliation or Adventure at Harvest Time, Glorious! , The Kindly Ones, Leni, The Merry Wives of Windsor.

Kindly note that the list of performances may change during the season pursuant amendments to the ToC.

Group bookings for performances that are not included on the list herein may be also done as bookings in the auditorium during the first week of ticket sales for the performances concerned, though only up to 50 % of seating capacity in each price category. After the first week, bookings may be made for the entire seating capacity available for the performance concerned.

7. Group discounts

SND DRAMA COMPANY → over 100 tickets: 5 % discount

SND BALLET AND OPERA → over 20 tickets: 2 % discount
