The historical SND building

The basic work of classical ballet romantic period was premiered in 1832 at Théâtre de l’Académie Royale de Musique choreographed by Filippo Taglioni. The story of tragic love of the Sylph and James is a jewel of the romantic ballet period. The version performed at Royal Danish Ballet in Copenhagen in 1836 with the choreography by August Bournonville is similarly famous. This is the version we present, staged by Niels Kehlet, the balletmaster of Royal Danish Ballet and the expert on Danish ballet school.
