The baritone Nikoloz Lagvila is among the most representative members of Georgian vocal school. Born in the capital city of Tbilisi, where he also graduated at the conservatory, he carried on his studies in Italy at the Teatro alla Scala to acquire the specific skills related to the Italian vocal interpretation. Mr Lagvila is currently member of the Georgian National Opera. The character baritone tends to essentially work on characters from Italian operatic opus. The characters of Renato (Un ballo in maschuera), Nabucco, Germont (La Traviata), Scarpia (Tosca), Figaro (The Barber of Seville), Escamillio (Carmen), inter alia, make up the vocalist profile of the interesting artist. In addition to his home theatre, Mr Lagvila features at a number of Europe’s leading stages, namely the Aalto-Theater in Essene, Opera in Lille, Opera in Oslo and Malmö and, inevitably, the famed Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. Nikoloz Lagvila will present himself to the Bratislava audience as Rigoletto in the eponymous opera by Guiseppe Verdi.
