Tracy Letts belongs today to the most well-known and awarded American authors. In 2008 he received Pulitzer Prize for the play August: Osage County and since it was premiered in Chicago, it has been successfully played in theatres almost all around the world. Shortly after the father disappeared, his three daughters, together with other members of the family meet in a considerably devastated and empty birth house that used to be very nice. The life of Westons family seems to be the fulfilment of the parameters on the American dream of a family, nevertheless it has been declining rapidly. The author using significant amount of sarcastic humour, brilliantly balances the cruel analysis of non-functioning family relationships, lost illusions and life failures hidden almost in every family.

Vulgar expressions are used in the play.
