This original ballet performance to the music of legendary English composer, author of famous musicals and ballets – Carla Davis, provides a unique insight into the life and work of famous Russian dancer and choreographer Vaslav Nijinsky. One of the key members of the internationally renowned Sergei Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes revitalised the art of male dancing, combining his brilliant jump and pirouette technique with the expressiveness and pantomime. The production cites his most famous characters, which include Petrushka in IF Stravinsky’s ballet, Debussy’s Afternoon of a Faun, as well as his groundbreaking The Rite of Spring to music by Igor Stravinsky. This is the international premiere of the work.
