The ballet based on the Miguel de Cervantes novel to the music by Ludwig Minkus was first brought by Marius Petipa at the Moscow-based Imperial Bolshoi Theatre in 1869. Ever since then the ballet has been the gem in the repertoire of stages worldwide. The exceptional director of classical ballet works intertwined the story of the forbidden love of Kitri and Basilio with the fantasy world of Don Quixote, who set out in search of the lady of his heart. Our production of the ballet as a synonym for the eternal struggle with windmills has been choreographed Vasily Medvedev and Stanislav Fečo, authorities on classical works. A spectacular set with an atmosphere of sunny Spain, spirited music full of southern motifs and dynamic choreography, presenting the virtuosity of the soloists and the choir, promise an extraordinary experience.
