The second concert of the 2022/23 SND Opera Studio students will focus on the repertoire of Czech opera of the 19th and 20th centuries. They will be performing arias, duets and ensembles from the works of composers such as Bedřich Smetana, Antonín Dvořák and Leoš Janáček.
 

The concert was preceded by masterclasses with the professor and legendary soprano Gabriela Beňačková, who has portrayed exceptionally many female roles from the Czech repertoire on the opera stages worldwide. The young singers, under her expert guidance, not only pursued a complex musical analysis and artistic understanding of the selected works but also discovered new possibilities for their interpretation, each according to their own abilities, vocals and personality disposition.
 

Since our concert takes place just a few days before Christmas, the members of the opera studio have prepared a Christmas musical surprise for their audience.
