Annette Murschetz

Anette Murschetz is member of a highly interesting middle-generation of Austrian and/or German set designers. She studied in Vienna with the legendary set designer E. Wondera. She later became his assistant at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts. Her first solo set design came in 1992 in the city of Graz where she designed set for the drama productions of Maid and Count Theodor of Gothland directed by M. Günthers. From the early 1990s she is freelancer, collaborating with a range of drama companies and operatic stages in the German linguistic world, and further afield in Europe (Amsterdam, Barcelona, Brussels, Edinburg). Ms Murschetz collaborated with such directors as J. Flimm, A. Kirchner or M. Kušej. Since 2000she works largely with the director A. Breth, Tigethet they staged a dozen of productions at the Vienna-based Burgtheater anda Akademietheater, and for the festivals Ruhr Triennale v Essene and Styriarte in Graz. In addition to stage design, Mr Murschetz is also illustrator for books for children and youth.
