The gripping story of Paul's obsession with his deceased wife and his journey between dream and reality is told through spectacular, emotional, and melodic music that has won the hearts of audiences around the world with its orchestral bravura, dramatic charge, and lyrical beauty.
A dead city sounds like the last great romantic dream. A dream in which the worlds of Richard Wagner, Richard Strauss, and Giacomo Puccini intertwine, but also a foreshadowing of film music—it is no coincidence that Korngold later became one of the pioneers of the golden age of Hollywood sound.
The production is suitable for audiences aged 15 and over.
Running time is indicative, as the dress rehearsal is still due for the production.
