Tatyjana Melnyik

Tatyjana Melnyik graduated from the Perm Ballet Academy. She began her career with the Moscow Academic Music Theatre Ballet and later worked with the Russian State Ballet V. M. Gordeev in Moscow. She is currently the principal soloist of the Hungarian National Ballet. Her repertoire includes the most important characters of the ballet legacy, such as Odile/Odetta (The Swan Lake, choreography M. Petipa, L. Ivanov), Cinderella (Cinderella, choreography F. Ashton), Princess Aurora (The Sleeping Beauty, choreography M. Petipa), Kitri (Don Quijote, choreography M. Petipa), Manon (Manon, choreography Kenneth MacMillan), Nikia (Bayadère, choreography M. Petipa), Tatiana (Onegin, choreography J. Cranko), Lise (La Fille mal gardée, choreography F. Ashton), Paquita (Paquita, choreography M. Petipa), Juliet (Romeo and Juliet, choreography L. Seregi), solo (Petite Mort, choreography J. Kylián), solo (The Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude, choreography W. Forsythe) and others. She has received ballet awards (International Ballet Competition, Moscow 2013 - 2nd prize, International Ballet Competition Arabesque 2012 - 3rd prize). She has been awarded the Étoile of the Hungarian National Ballet (2018, 2023), the Golden Cross of Merit (2021), and the Best Dance Artist of the Season (2016, 2019).
