Federico Ievoli
Born in Naples, he graduated from the Accademia Teatro alla Scala in Milan. In 2015, he joined the Ballet of the National Theatre in Prague, where he worked as a demi-soloist from 2019, a year later as a soloist, and in April 2021, he was appointed first soloist. He appears on stage in lyrical and psychological roles, as well as in productions demanding brilliant technique and powerful drama. In the classical repertoire, he excels as Romeo in Romeo and Juliet (John Cranko), Lenski in Onegin (John Cranko), The Nutcracker in The Nutcracker - A Christmas Carol (Youri Vámos), Franz in Coppélia (Ronald Hynd), The Prince in The Swan Lake (John Cranko), and James in La Sylphide (Johan Kobborg). In the Czech première of L'Histoire de Manon (2025), he played the title role of Des Grieux, confirming his reputation as a performer of dramatic characters. He was impressive as the characters of Joseph K. and PainterIn in the ballet Kafka: Proces (Mauro Bigonzetti). His other notable performances include Allan in the ballet A Streetcar Named Desire (John Neumeier), the Prince in Cinderella (Jean-Christophe Maillot) and Valerio in the ballet Leonce and Lena (Christian Spuck). In the contemporary repertoire he has appeared with success in works by Jiří Kylián (Petite Mort, Bella Figura, God and Dogs, Six Dances, Psalm Symphony), Ohad Naharin (Decadance), Emanuel Gat (Separate Knots), Alexander Ekman (Cacti), and Glen Tetley (Rite of Spring). In the production 101 (Eric Gauthier), he demonstrated his technical skills and comedic timing. Federico regularly performs at international ballet galas: Ballet Galas in Lappeenranta and Tampere (Finland, 2017 and 2019), Gala in Shenzhen, China (2018), International Ballet Gala in Ostrava (2019), Velvet Gala at the Estates Theatre in Prague (2019) and Starlight International Ballet Os20, Japan. In 2023, he received the Sfera d'Oro per la Danza award as the best Italian dancer working abroad. As a guest artist, he has also collaborated with the Slovenian National Ballet in Ljubljana (The Nutcracker – A Christmas Story) and the Thüringen Staatsballett in Gera, Germany (The Sleeping Beauty).
