The Nutcracker ballet for children belongs naturally to the Christmas season. The secret, revived world in the shadow of the Christmas tree, the courageous Nutcracker fighting the Mouse King, and the dancing snowflakes are the iconic imagery of the ballet, whose fairy-tale story floats on captivating melodies. Thanks to its vivid imagery, melodiousness, and rich timbre, the score for The Nutcracker has earned the title “the symphony of childhood.” Together with Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty, it completes Tchaikovsky’s triptych of symphonic ballets, which we consider part of the golden canon of the classical ballet heritage.

The most famous Christmas fairy tale, The Nutcracker, comes to life in a classic choreography by Jakob Feyferlik and Nina Poláková. The students of the Eva Jaczová Dance Conservatory and the Bratislava Boys' Choir, under the direction of Magdalena Rovňáková, will perform alongside the soloists and members of the SND Ballet.

The production is suitable for audiences aged 4 and over.

Running time is indicative, as the dress rehearsal is still due for the production.

Première November 27, 2026
