Once again, we are mourning at the Slovak National Theatre

It is with great sadness that we have received the news of the unfortunate death of our former colleague and friend, Ruan Crighton, in a plane crash in Nepal is all the more devastating for us as it happened the day after his thirty-fourth birthday. Ruan was a great professional and a talented artist. A man with a big heart and an incredible sense of humour whose laughter and positive energy could light up the confines of a theatre. He worked at the Slovak National Theatre Ballet from 2008 to 2013, first in the ballet choir and quickly became a soloist. Among the ballets in which he danced, let us mention titles such as La Bayadère, Giselle, Onegin, Romeo and Juliet, The Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, Raymonda, KY-TIME, The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Everest, The Snow White and the Seven Racers, A Beetle Was Born. His premature passing is very painful for us, and on behalf of all our colleagues, we extend our sincere condolences to the family. He will be missed but not forgotten.
