Costume and stage designer
She graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava's stage and costume design department. As a costume designer, she most often collaborates with directors—Vladimír Strnisko, Emil Horváth, Roman Polák, Viliam Klimáček, Karol Vosátek, and others. Her creative style is found in many television and advertising projects. For three years, she has been "dressing" the guests at the prestigious Opera Ball.
She has created hundreds of costumes for productions in various Slovak theatres. At the SND Drama Theatre, she created these productions: With Mama, Maria Stuarda, Aska och akvavit, No Exit, Fernando Krapp Wrote Me This Letter, The Last Cigar, and for the SND Ballet, she created costumes for the musical Popolvar. At the New Stage Theatre in Bratislava, she participated in the productions Agent Krowiak Intervenes and A Lie of the Mind at the A. Bagar Theatre in Nitra, she collaborated on the productions Ivona, Princess of Burgundy and Silvia. For Astorka Korzo '90, she designed the productions Escape, Uncle Vanya, The Exchange, Birthday, Summer Guests and Centaurs. She has also worked with Theatre West in productions of Infidelity American Style, A Man to Eat, You've Still Got Me, Darling, and The Perfect Wedding. At the GUnaGU theatre, she designed the productions Caligari, The Bieliks, The Lady with the Hummingbird, and the musical Love and Lonely. For the Bratislava Dance Theatre, she created costumes for the dance productions The X-Files, Faust. Simona Vachálková also collaborates with television and film directors; as an artist, she has participated in the films Kovlad's Gift, Pictures from a Small Town, Moments of Truth, The Happiest of Three, the video film Tormenting Secrets, and the production The Exiles.
