Conductor

Vinicius Kattah is a Brazilian conductor based in Vienna. He currently serves as Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the Wiener Mozart Orchester, Strauss Dinner Show, Imperial Gala Concert, and Die 90 Minuten Oper in Vienna.

From 2017 to 2020, he was Musical Director and Chief Conductor of the National Opera of Košice (Slovakia). A prizewinner in international conducting competitions, he was awarded First Prize at the Blue Danube International Conducting Competition and Third Prize at the 7th Concorso Internazionale per Direttori d’Opera “Luigi Mancinelli” in Orvieto.

His artistic activity has taken him to numerous countries across Europe, the Americas, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Recent engagements include conducting the Viennese Opera Ball in New York, featuring singers from the Metropolitan Opera and Grammy Award winners such as Leah Crocetto, Lucas Meachem, Limmie Pulliam, Stephen Costello, Joyce El-Khoury, and Donata D’Annunzio Lombardi. He has also conducted the televised concert Austria for Life with Anna Netrebko, as well as performances at the Teatro Real in Madrid and numerous productions at the National Opera of Košice.

In 2026, he returns to the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava after several years, where he previously conducted the premiere of L’heure espagnole, Daphnis et Chloé, as well as revivals of Tosca and I Puritani. In May 2026, he will conduct the premiere of Le nozze di Figaro.

In addition to opera and symphonic repertoire, he is also active in liturgical music. He received his musical education in Brazil, Germany, and the United States, including a scholarship to study with Helmuth Rilling. He has also worked as a répétiteur and assistant to the Generalmusikdirektor at the Cologne Opera.
