Robert Roth was born in Bratislava. He graduated from the State Conservatory in Bratislava, music and drama department. After graduation, he accepted engagements in theatres: Trnava Theatre (1993), The New Stage Theatre (1993 - 1996), and The Puppet Theatre Žilina (1996 - 1997). He appeared on the stages of the SND as a child (The Duck Hunt, Napoleon, Richard III). He has been a regular guest at the SND since 1994. He has been an actor in the SND Drama Theatre since 2000. He also performs in projects outside his home theatre.

1997 - Kopřivnice Kopřiva - award for the best male actor Ubu Roi, Astorka Korzo '90.
2008 - DOSKY Award for the role of Hamlet in the production of the same name
2008 - Tatra Banka Foundation Award for Art (the character of Hamlet)
2010 - Crystal Wing for Theatre and Audiovisual Art
2010 - Literary Fund Award for the character Holly/Roth in the production of the play HOLLYROTH anebo Robert Roth spívá Jana Hollého mrzkoti a pomerkováňá
2010 – DOSKY Award for the best male actor (for the character Holly/Roth)
2017 - IGRIC for male actor - for his portrayal of Father in the film Nina
2018 - The Sun in the Net for the best performance by a male actor in a supporting role (Father in Nina)
7 nominations for DOSKY Award - all for his SND titles (Ariel, Shabrin, Ivanov, Hamlet, Holly/Roth, Orestes, Rastislav)
Several Literary Fund prizes, including annual prizes.
