The retrospective photography exhibition The Magic of Ballet Fairy Tales presents fragments from productions created for children within the SND Ballet, staged since 1920 primarily by Slovak and Czech choreographers. Through photographs by renowned theatre photographers – Jozef Vavro, Gejza Podhorský, Katarína Marenčinová, Otakar Nehera, Ctibor Bachratý, Peter Brenkus and Juraj Žilinčár – we offer a mosaic of works from Slovak and world repertoire that shaped several generations of audiences. The exhibition was created on the occasion of the première of the original ballet fairy tale Peter Pan, with music by Marián Lejava and choreography by Roman Novitzký, representing a rare contribution to Slovak original ballet creation. The exhibition was prepared by the Dramaturgy Department of the SND Ballet in collaboration with the theatre archive.
