The opening Gala Concert of the season – the prominent opera personalities will pay tribute to the legendary Slovak bassist.
Ondrej Malachovský was a soloist of the Slovak National Theatre Opera from 1959 to 1999. His exceptional vocal potential, strong acting abilities and charismatic appearance predestined him to become one of the most prominent figures of Slovak opera interpretation.
His profile roles included Suchoň's Svätopluk and Štelina (Krútňava), Don Basilio (Barbier of Seville), Sarastro (The Magic Flute), Komtúr (Don Giovanni), Kecal (The Bartered Bride), Končak (Prince Igor), Gremin (Eugene Onegin), Rocco (Fidelio), Mephisto (Faust), Boris Godunov, the Verdian roles Ferrando from Il trovatore, Tom from Un ballo in maschera, Guardiano from La Forza del destino, Sparafucile from Rigoletto, Philip II. from Don Carlos, Jacopo Fiesco from Simon Boccanegra, Zachariah from Nabucco, premiere roles in the operas of Cikker and many others (over 80 characters).
