Ján Luterán
He graduated in theatre directing from the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava in 2010 in the class of Professor Ľubomír Vajdička. During his studies, he took part in the Erasmus programme in Prague, where he met the American director Anne Bogart and, under her guidance, underwent Viewpoints acting training. With his graduation production Once Upon a Class (2010; first at the Academy of Performing Arts, later at the Andrej Bagar Theatre in Nitra), he clearly made his mark on the awareness of the audience and contemporary theatre studies. The renowned Slovak theatre critic and historian Vladimír Štefko awarded this production the Commedia dell'scholarum prize for an intelligent prank. After graduation, he collaborated with several Slovak theatres (Andrej Bagar Theatre in Nitra, Slovak Chamber Theatre in Martin, Municipal Theatre in Žilina, Jonáš Záborský Theatre in Prešov). His productions are regular guests at Czech and Slovak theatre festivals. He has won two awards from the Slovak Festival of Contemporary Drama and Theatre - Nová dráma/New Drama. He is a nominee for the Discovery of the Year Award at the Kremnica Gags Festival.
