Alexander Bárta was born in Košice. He graduated from the Conservatory in Košice, music and drama department. In 1996, he began studying acting at the Academy of Performing Arts, graduating in 2000. He has worked in the theatres in Trnava, Nitra, and Košice, in the Aréna Theatre in Bratislava, and since December 2006, he has been a member of the SND Drama Theatre. He also works with the P. O. Hviezdoslav Municipal Theatre. He has appeared in many television series.

 

2012 - Literary Fund Award for the character of Alyosha Karamazov in the dramatisation of The Brothers Karamazov, taking into account the character of Tomáš Lipanský in the TV series Hot Blood

2015 - Literary Fund Award for the character of Milan in the production of the play The Ball and for the character of Mišo in the production of the play The Shepherd's Wife

2019 - Tatra Banka Foundation Award for Art (production of The Square)

2020 - Literary Fund Award for the character Maksudov in the production of the play The Theatre Novel
