The masterpiece of French composer Camille Saint-Saëns, the opera Samson and Delilah, is one of the most beautiful works in the world romantic repertoire. It tells a thrilling biblical story with two main storylines: the war between the Hebrews and the Philistines, and the lyrical scenes of the love affair and subsequent betrayal between the main characters, Samson and Delilah. The most famous pieces from the opera are Dalila's grand aria Mon cœur s'ouvre à ta voix and the captivating dance scene Bacchanalia. The work returns to the SND after almost 100 years in a spectacular production by young director Zuzana Fischer. Strong artistic stylization, intensive utilization of stage technology, and significant incorporation of dance to energize the action promise an extraordinary musical and dramatic experience.
The production is suitable for viewers aged 15 and older.
