Richard Stanke

Richard Stanke was born in Bratislava. He studied at the Academy of Performing Arts, majoring in acting. He is a long-standing Slovak National Theatre Drama Department member and has been performing there since 1989. However, he was also a guest appearing in many other Slovak and Czech theatres. He has given his voice to dozens of characters in dubbing. He has acted in many televised theatre productions, films and TV series.

2006 - Literary Fund Award
2010 - Literary Fund Award for the character of Chichikov in the production Dead Souls
2016 - Literary Fund (LF) Award for the character of Bishop Eduard Vergérus in the production of Fanny and Alexander, with consideration for the voice-over of the character in The Adventures of Huck Finn and for directing The Brothers Grimm's Fairy Tales
2019 - Order of Ľudovít Štúr I. class - state honour awarded by the President of the Slovak Republic
