Ivan Vojtek was born in Dunajská Streda (1962); he graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in 1985 under Professor Zachar and Doc. Svoboda, but already in 1984, he became a member of the Andrej Bagar Theatre ensemble in Nitra, mainly under the direction of J. Bednárik and K. Spišák (1984 - 1991). After working at the Nitra Theatre, he became a member of the Drama Company at the New Stage Theatre (1991-1997). Then, he was a freelance actor for fourteen years, and since 2011, he has been working at the Slovak National Theatre. During his acting career, he played many dramatic roles, but he was mainly cast in comedic ones. He has also shown his talent in many television productions, fairy tales or films, and in many entertainment shows, New Year's Eve prime-time programmes, grotesques or TV shows about culinary, gardening or DIY.

But according to his words, the greatest award in his artistic life is to be a member of our theatre Olympus drama company - the Slovak National Theatre. Without pathos, with all the more humbleness.
