Darina Abrahámová was born in Dunajská Streda. In 1984, she graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts with a degree in theatre and film studies. However, she has been active as an actress before. At first, as a member of the Radošina Naive Theater ensemble, she later began to perform at the GUnaGU theatre. She also worked as a dramaturge in both of the theatres. After graduating, she began working at the Slovak National Theatre as a lecturer and later as the chief dramaturg. For two seasons, she also held the position of dramaturge at the Žilina Municipal Theatre. Since the 2012/2013 season, she has been working again as the dramaturge of the SND Drama Theatre. She has also collaborated as a dramaturg with the Elledanse and V podpalubí theatres in Bratislava. She co-founded the Dráma competition of original drama texts and the Nová Drama/New Drama Festival; she also worked on the dramaturgy of the Kremnica Gags festival.
